Private Islands for Sale in the Caribbean

The Caribbean is relatively cheap, many of the governments offer great stability, and the beaches are excellent!

Carib Cay, North Eleuthera, The Bahamas

A tiny island, but well-developed, this just appeared on the market. It is about two acres, with four buildings--a main house, two guest cottages, and also a lighthouse. And there's a heated swimming pool, which is a rarety for an island. The island is over-priced at $3.5 million, especially for its size, but is nonetheless intriguing.

Above: Silver Cay, Nassau, Bahamas -- $7.5 million

Alright, this 16-acre island--site of Crystal Cay Marine Park and Villas--might not be the most practical thing ever, but it has a lot of really cool stuff on it: 21 villas, a causeway to Nassau, and it's right next door to the Underwater Observatory. (Originally, I was under the impression that this was on the island--that would have been way better). Anyway, this island looks like it would need a lot of work, but it's in a prime commercial location. Not really an island for those looking for privacy... it's not my type of island, as a matter of fact. But interesting. Click on this link for details.

Prince Cay in the Abacos, Bahamas

This pretty island in the Bahamas, with just over 9 acres, is well vegetated and has good elevations. Perfect for construction of a home or perhaps even a small resort (it is close to the Green Turtle Cay and Spanish Cay Resorts), the island offers multiple sandy white beaches and swaying palms. There is a lagoon ringed with small rock islets on one side, and deep water anchorage suitable for a dock on the other side of the cay. Prince Cay also boasts a small cottage, in need of reconstruction.
